2021: Attune to Your Deep Healing

How happy are we to FLIP this calendar year?
2021 is going to be the year where you are loyal to your HEALING.
2020 generated a lot of grace, grit, resilience and flexibility. Now take those lessons and channel it to your body, your mind, your heart. For deep healing.
I received a beautiful reminder this morning from one of my mentors:
As the sun rises for the first time in 2021, may our hearts be filled with compassion for those who struggle, gratitude for the learning that came through the challenges and the opportunity to reset our priorities as individuals, communities and the whole as a whole.
Start your year attuning to your heart’s desires. Healing is built into your blueprint. Please enjoy this month’s resources of my favourite things + practices to align yourself to your innate capacity to heal:

4 Steps to Healing

  • My favourite winter breakfast your body will love
  • A meditation to build self-compassion
  • Two book recco’s with a radical approach to mental well-being
  • Someone to check out on IG

January Wellness Toolkit

January 2021

Enjoy this months’ collection of curated resources filled with practical ideas and
actions you can take to heal mind and body Try just one, or dive into them all.
How you use these resources is completely up to you.

1. Steps to Healing

1. Healing is a process of biology and psychology, and the more esoteric of Spirit. Here is how I break it down:
Clean up your body + habits- quality sleep, clean food, hydration, spend time in Nature, move your body
2. Thoughts, Words, Actions – Observe what you think + how it makes you feel + how you react
3. Heal your childhood trauma/imprints aka your programmed beliefs
4. Self Love, Forgiveness and Compassion

2. Book

Own Your Self by Dr. Kelly Brogan MD
Beyond the Label; 10 Steps to Improve Your Mental Health with Naturopathic Medicine by Dr. Christina Bjorndal, ND

I had to include 2 this month! Both so great, enriching and radical in their approach to mental well being. Mental, emotional and physical balance has become our highest value. Both of these books gives you the best possible solution on how to change your mind, your body and your life.

3. Meditation

As we step into 2021, may our hearts be filled with compassion and gratitude for self and each other. The Rain of Self Compassion meditation by Tara Brach is soul soothing.

4. IG Voice

5. A breakfast of…..love

Eat a boiled or stewed apple every day. Boiling the apple gets the pectin out, and pectin helps the liver process toxins (which is its primary function). The idea is that one boiled apple is equal to eating, say, twenty raw apples. It’s best done on an empty stomach.

Some days I’ll eat just the boiled apple, but most days I make the most delicious, warm apples and oats mix—and I still get the pectin power.

It goes like so:
Large dice and boil one or two apples in a generous amount of water.

Don’t toss the boiled water—drink it straight up, or use it as water for your tea. Mix the boiled apples with: gluten free oats + a non-dairy milk (I go with oat milk because it’s the least resource intensive milk to produce, and it’s delish.)

Add the goodies: shredded coconut, seeds (pumpkin, sesame, flax), nuts galore, a couple of dates. Add to taste: cinnamon, maybe some salt, and a small hit of turmeric powder, maple syrup.

This breakfast is PURE LOVE. I love myself and life more when I make this for myself and my people. Warm, medicinal, comforting, and nourishing.
